Miami Open Women's: Prediction, Tips and Odds

The second leg of the Sunshine Double series on the WTA Tour gets underway on Tuesday as the Miami Open takes place at Hard Rock Stadium in Florida.

Fresh from winning last week's Indian Wells event in California, world number one Iga Swiatek looks set to be the one to beat again as she goes in search of her second Miami Open title following her victory at the event two years ago.

This WTA 1000 event has attracted nine of the world's top-10 players from the women's game, while there is British interest too with Katie Boulter set to feature.

Miami Open Women's betting tips and predictions

Elena Rybakina to win Miami Open - 5/1

Form and momentum appears to be with Swiatek heading into this event, as the Pole's victory at Indian Wells was her second WTA title of the year.

Only two women have won as many titles as the world number one in 2024, one being Jelena Ostapenko and the other Elena Rybakina, who also boasts plenty of positive memories of playing in Miami.

Rybakina made it all the way to the final of the Miami Open last year, finding only Petra Kvitova too strong and the Czech ace is not defending her title this week.

Since losing the 2023 showpiece to Kvitova, Rybakina has made four WTA finals, winning three of those, including two successes since the turn of the year that have both come on hard courts at the Brisbane International and the Abu Dhabi Open.

The Kazakh star also reached the final of the WTA 1000 Qatar Open in February, finding only Swiatek too hot in that final, and another reason for Rybakina to be positive this week is that she is on the opposite side of the draw to the world number one.

Ostapenko and Indian Wells finalists Maria Sakkari are potential opponents for Rybakina en route to the last four, but the 24-year-old will hope to have enough to see off either of those threats.

It is also worth noting that Rybakina will come into this event relatively fresh after withdrawing from Indian Wells due to illness and provided she has fully recovered from those fitness issues, she could take some stopping in the Florida sunshine.

Marta Kostyuk to win Miami Open - 50/1

Ukrainian star Marta Kostyuk is enjoying a strong start to the year on the tour and she doesn't feel too far away from landing her second WTA title.

The 21-year-old started 2024 by reaching a maiden Grand Slam singles quarter-final at the Australian Open where she was edged out in three sets by Coco Gauff and she followed that up with a run to the final of the San Diego Open, losing in a tight contest there to British number one Boulter.

Kostyuk also reached the semi-finals in Indian Wells last week, losing out to Swiatek, and all this has contributed to her reaching a career-high number 26 in the world rankings.

The Kyiv native has been handed a tough route through in Miami, as she is again on the same side of the draw as Swiatek and may have to get past Gauff, Elina Svitolina and Ons Jabeur just to set up a potential semi-final with the Pole.

That being said, Kostyuk is arguably in the form of her career and could be a worthy outside option to go on and lift the title.

Katie Boulter to win quarter four - 14/1

Another player that is enjoying a breakthrough season is Brit Boulter, whose victory over Kostyuk in San Diego earlier this month handed her a first WTA Tour title.

The Leicester-born ace was still coming down from that success when she lost to the always difficult Camila Giorgi in the first round of Indian Wells, but she has been handed not only a bye into round two in Miami, but it is fair to say a favourable draw.

Provided she gets through her opening contest, Boulter is likely to face tough but winnable matches against Beatriz Haddad Maia and Australian Open finalist Zheng Qinwen - both of whom went out early at Indian Wells.
