World number one Jannik Sinner will attempt to follow up his hassle-free first-round victory over Luca Nardi when he faces Aleksandar Vukic on Thursday.
Sinner saw off the challenge of his fellow Italian in three easy sets and next faces a player two places higher in the ATP rankings at No.93.
The reigning US Open and Australian Open champion arrived at Wimbledon as the top seed and as one of the most in-form players on tour.
However, his grass-court preparations were hit by a second-round defeat to Alexander Bublik in Halle - his only warm-up event for SW19.
Vukic, meanwhile, comes into this match with a reputation for battling through adversity.
The 29-year-old Australian fought back from 2-1 down twice to reach his maiden Grand Slam third round at Melbourne Park earlier this year before exiting in another five-setter to Jack Draper.
That defeat left him with a 1-6 career record against top-10 players, with his only win in that exalted company coming against Casper Ruud last year.
This will be the second year running Vukic has drawn a big gun in Wimbledon's last-64, after he bowed out in straight sets to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in 2024.
He has faced Sinner twice before and lost without taking a set both times, albeit each defeat was on clay and over three years ago.
Vukic beat Chinese Taipei’s Chun-Hsin Tseng 6-3 6-4 4-6 7-6 in just over three hours to set up this latest meeting and will not want to become another statistic on the Italian's impressive record.

Sinner has a perfect 2-0 head-to-head record against Vukic and has claimed all four sets played between these two players
The Italian is the current world No.1 and boasts a 2025 season win rate of 87% (20-3)
Vukic is ranked No.93 with a 38% (13-21) win rate this year
Sinner has a 14-4 singles record at Wimbledon
Vukic has broken Sinner's serve only once across both of their previous head-to-head matches
Best Bet: Jannik Sinner to win 3-0 (in sets) @ 3/10
Sinner was in no mood to mess around against Nardi and perhaps took some of the frustration from his early Halle exit out on his fellow Italian.
He broke his opponent's serve once in each of the first two sets before rattling off six games in a row in the third and final set, winning without facing a break point on his own serve.
That looks like a benchmark performance for the top seed and should translate into this clash against a similarly ranked opponent with no history of causing him bother.
Vukic has never come close to taking a set in either of their previous matches and probably hasn't got the weapons to change that on Thursday.
Sinner reached the French Open Final this year without dropping a set and was on course to blow Alcaraz away when 2-0 up in an epic contest which the Spaniard somehow turned around.
The Italian has won 11 of his last 14 Grand Slam singles matches in straight sets and looks likely to make short work of this one too.
Simon Barlow explains:
Sinner's 83% win ratio against players outside the world’s top-10 is a strong indicator that he will win and his clinical dismissal of Nardi suggests it will be another 3-0 stroll.
Jannik Sinner to win 3-0
Over 0.5 Tie Breaks
Aleksandar Vukic - Under 0.5 Breaks of Serve
Pays: 9/1
In their previous meetings, Sinner has averaged 79% first-serve points won and 70% break points converted, compared to Vukic's 57% and 14% respectively.
The Australian simply cannot seem to land any consistent blows on the Italian's serve and has only broken him once in their two past contests.
Sinner is serving well enough to remain unbroken on Thursday and should win this match in straight sets too.
It could be worth boosting the odds of a Bet Builder by adding in one of the sets to go to a tie break.
Three of Sinner's matches at this year’s Australian Open featured tie-breaks and four of his last six sets at the French Open went all the way too.

Simon Barlow adds:
Nardi did not even earn a break point against Sinner in round one, let alone take one, but Vukic may be able to at least stretch Sinner to a tie-break, even if he is unable to claim a set.

Sinner will aim to control the match from the baseline and behind his efficient first serve.
He won 89% of his points on first serve against Nardi and did not face a break point all match.
Vukic will need to raise his game to the levels seen at this year's Australian Open when, in front of his home crowd, he refused to be beaten in three five-set battles.
Getting his first serve in will be crucial, but Sinner will need to be careful about giving the Australian angles to produce stunning shots on the run, as he did against Draper in Melbourne.
