Novak Djokovic claimed the all-time record for most men's singles match wins at Wimbledon with his fourth-round victory over Roman Safiullin and the 24-time Grand Slam champion will be aiming to make his eighth straight semi-final appearance at the All England Club.
Djokovic is a seven-time Wimbledon champion but he has not been able to add to his Grand Slam haul since winning the 2023 US Open.
However, the legendary Serb did make the Australian Open final earlier in the season, finishing runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz, to show that the fire still burns deep inside and he will be keen for one last hurrah at Wimbledon.
World number one Jannik Sinner could wait in the semi-final providing Djokovic can come past Felix Auger-Aliassime, who is appearing in the last eight at Wimbledon for just the second time and needed five sets to see off Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the last round..

Djokovic’s decision to bypass any tournaments since the French Open at the end of the May has worked so far with the 39-year-old making the quarter-final at his beloved Wimbledon.
Djokovic is one of the greatest grass-court players to ever grace the game, having won at SW19 on seven occasions, and although 14 years older than his upcoming opponent, he should still take some stopping.
Auger-Aliassime may well contend for Grand Slam silverware in the coming years but he has made only two major semi-finals to date and this is only the second time he has reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.
The Canadian eased through his opening three assignments in straight sets but his first clash with a seed, his fourth-round tie with world number 24 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, saw him taken all the way to five sets.
Auger-Aliassime has a powerful serve which should keep him competitive but Djokovic is one of the best returners in the business and he has already downed a big server in Arthur Rinderknech.
Djokovic was made to work hard in that clash, dropping a set in a four-set match which featured 42 games, and this could follow a similar pattern.
The Serb also dropped a set in his opening clash and last time out against Safiullin, so he has not been at his peak.
Alternative Bet: Novak Djokovic to win 3-1 @ 3/1
Three of Djokovic’s four wins at Wimbledon this year have finished 3-1 and it could be a repeat scenario against Auger-Aliassime.
These two players have not met since 2022 and Djokovic has won two of their three rivalries.
While Djokovic is clearly not the force he once was, he has still performed to a high level at Wimbledon and only three times in his last 15 Grand Slam appearances has he failed to make the semi-final.
Auger-Aliassime should be fitter being the younger man but his power is his real weapon and that will be nullified against Djokovic, who is so strong in defence.

Djokovic is bidding to make the semi-final at Wimbledon for an eighth straight appearance and he should find a way to come out on top.
However, Auger-Aliassime has a big serve. The Canadian had 27 aces in his round-four win over Davidovich Fokina and he had 13 in his last meeting with Djokovic which featured only two sets.
Meanwhile, Djokovic’s four-set win over Rinderknech in round four saw his French opponent have 21 aces.
That should mean that Auger-Aliassime may be hard to break early doors and a tie-break may be on the cards.
Djokovic’s last two wins featured a tie-break while the Canadian played out three tie-breaks in the previous round.
