Emma Navarro v Iga Swiatek: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Iga Swiatek is bidding to make her first Australian Open semi-final appearance since 2022 and the Polish phenomenon is expected to make light work of her last-eight rival Emma Navarro.

Five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek has rarely been able to translate her best form for the Australian Open but the Pole has looked determined to change that this year.

The world number two has made only one Australian Open semi-final in six previous visits to Melbourne Park and she will be desperate to equal that feat with victory over Emma Navarro.

Swiatek, renowned for being a French Open specialist with four of her five Grand Slam titles coming on the Parisian clay, has eased into the last eight without dropping a set.

In fact, the Pole’s toughest test came in round one against Kateriina Siniakova and she has gone from strength to strength since then, dropping only four games across her subsequent three victories.

Navarro was a US Open semi-finalist last season and the 23-year-old, who has risen to world number eight, could have plenty more to come from her.

However, the American has required a deciding set in all four of her matches and Swiatek should be much the fresher of the pair, suggesting that she can run out an authoritative winner.

Emma Navarro v Iga Swiatek betting tips and predictions

Iga Swiatek to win & under 17.5 games - 11/10

It is unsurprising to see that Swiatek is 1/16 for victory and 2/7 to register a straight-sets success, especially given the manner of her latest victories.

The Pole may be yet to face a seeded opponent but she can only beat what is in front of her and she should come into this quarter-final feeling relatively fresh.

That is because Swiatek has dropped only four games in overcoming Rebecca Sramkova, Emma Raudcanu and Eva Lys, bagelling her rivals in three of those six sets.

With Navarro having had to come through four gruelling three-set clashes, two of which happened to come against former Grand Slam runner-up Ons Jabeur and ninth seed Daria Kasatkina, she would have exerted plenty of energy.

The American youngster can go through lulls in her matches and she may be punished by Swiatek, who ought to be feeling extremely confident having spent only four and a half hours on court.

That is almost six hours less than her opponent has been in action at Melbourne Park and it could be worth backing the Pole to triumph in a match featuring 17 games or fewer.

A win of 6-3 6-2 or better would be enough to see that bet land and in the only previous meeting between this pair, Swiatek soared to a 6-0 6-2 success.

Under 3.5 aces - 11/10

Neither of these are explosive serves and there is potential for this to follow a similar narrative to Swiatek’s opening four matches, with aces hard to come by.

All four of Swiatek’s Australian Open assignments have gone under that total, with the Polish star racking up only eight in this tournament.

Despite each of Navarro’s four Melbourne Park matches going the distance, the ace totals have been 11, two, five and four.

However, Swiatek is fancied to win this in routine fashion and, with far fewer games set to be contested, they may struggle to compile four aces between them.
