Recognised as the 'World Cup of Tennis', the Davis Cup has taken place in various formats since the inaugural edition in 1900, when the United States overcame the British Isles in Boston.

Australia are ranked second in the Davis Cup's all-time winners list with 28 successes, with their last triumph arriving back in 2003 when a Lleyton Hewitt and Mark Philippoussis-inspired side beating Spain in the final.
Great Britain and France are level in third for the most Davis Cup wins with 10 apiece.
