Tennis ATP Tour Power Rankings

The 2025 ATP Tour season is now well underway, with Italy's Jannik Sinner claiming the first Grand Slam on offer at the Australian Open in January.

Like in all sports, form and momentum is crucial in tennis, with different players coming to the fore at different stages of the ATP Tour season.

We assess the top five players on the ATP Tour at present in our Power Rankings.

5) Jakub Mensik

Regarded as one of the most promising young tennis players in the world, Czechia's Jakub Mensik had his breakout moment on the professional circuit when claiming his first ATP Tour title at the Miami Open in March 2025.

Remarkably coming close to pulling out of the Miami Open ahead of his opening round contest against Roberto Bautista Agut, prevented from doing so by the match official being out for lunch, Mensik ended up defying the odds by going all the way to win the ATP 1000 event.

What made the 19-year-old's achievement especially impressive is the calibre of opponents he was able to beat on the way, overcoming the third, fourth and sixth seeds in Taylor Fritz, Novak Djokovic and Jack Draper respectively.

It was Serbian icon Djokovic who Mensik defeated in the Miami Open final, denying the tennis legend an elusive 100th ATP Tour title win.

At 6ft 4ins, Mensik is a tall and powerful player with a destructive serve, with the Czech youngster's sensational triumph in Miami putting him firmly in the frame for further honours throughout the remainder of the 2025 season.

4) Alexander Zverev

Widely deemed the best player on the ATP Tour who is yet to win a Grand Slam title, Germany's Alexander Zverev came close to breaking his duck in the first major of 2025 - losing in the Australian Open final against Jannik Sinner.

Zverev's run to the final in Melbourne, along with Sinner's three-month ban from competitive activity, created the possibility of the German staking a claim to become the world's number one-ranked player.

27-year-old Zverev's form since the Australian Open has nosedived, however, with the 2020 Olympic gold medallist knocked out in the second round of Indian Wells by Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor before losing to Arthur Fils in the fourth round of the Miami Open.

Despite Zverev's recent struggles, the big-serving two-time ATP Finals winner is still the world number two and will be desperate to be back performing at his maximum level as soon as possible.

3) Jack Draper

If 2024 could be deemed Jack Draper's breakout season on the ATP Tour, the Briton has certainly continued where he left off this year.

Powerful lefty Draper established himself as a top 20 player in the world last year, notably reaching the semi-finals of the US Open in September 2024 before losing to eventual champion Jannik Sinner.

The 23-year-old now appears to back himself to compete against the elite operators in the sport, with Draper's triumph at the 2025 Indian Wells the biggest title of his career to date and undoubtedly a significant statement to the rest of the Tour.

Beating Taylor Fritz, Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune en route to his Indian Wells success, the onus will now be on Draper to continue his fine form for the duration of 2025 and aim to challenge for a maiden Grand Slam crown.

2) Carlos Alcaraz

One of the faces of a new generation of tennis post-Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz has remarkably already collected four Grand Slam titles by the age of just 21.

In 2024, Alcaraz won his maiden French Open title at Roland Garros in June before winning Wimbledon for a second time a month later.

The 2025 season has not started particularly well for the Spaniard, however, with Alcaraz's victory at the Rotterdam Open in February the only title to his name.

The athletically gifted Alcaraz was beaten by Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, before the world number three was knocked out by Jack Draper in the semi-finals of Indian Wells and David Goffin in the second round of the Miami Open.

These results underline that although Alcaraz has been able to get his hands on a major title so far this season, he has remained in the mix, and on his day the Spanish superstar is still undoubtedly one of the most menacing competitiors in the sport.

1) Novak Djokovic

Although 37-year-old all-time great Novak Djokovic is particularly selective with the tournaments he competes in at this late stage of his illustrious career, the Serbian is proving that he is still capable of competing for the biggest titles on the ATP Tour.

24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic reached the semi-finals of the 2025 Australian Open before retiring against Alexander Zverev due to injury and he also reached the final at the Miami Open before a shock defeat to youngster Jakub Mensik.

Djokovic appears to be enjoying his surprise collaboration with former rival Andy Murray, with the Scotsman drafted into the Serbian's coaching team in early 2025.

There is seemingly still plenty of fire in the belly of the serial champion, too, with Djokovic targeting a century of ATP titles and a 25th Grand Slam which would see him surpass Margaret Court's total.

As long as he maintains his current levels of physical fitness and drive, expect Djokovic to continue challenging for tennis' biggest prizes throughout 2025.
