ATP Dubai Tennis Championships: Prediction, Tips and Odds

The ATP Dubai Tennis Championships take centre stage this week and Alex de Minaur could enjoy a deep run at the tournament.

Daniil Medvedev is the top seed for the tournament, with the 2023 champion set to face Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round, while Ugo Humbert is back to defend the title he won 12 months ago, the Frenchman will first off be up against the in-form Jiri Lehecka.

ATP Dubai Tennis Championships betting tips and predictions

Alex de Minaur to win Dubai Tennis Championships - 11/2

With six of the world's top seven sitting out this tournament at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre, there will be plenty of players that will fancy their chances of going all the way.

As the top seed and a previous winner in Dubai, Medvedev is perhaps the one to beat, but his form so far this year has been underwhelming and there are also doubts surrounding his fitness after he was forced to retire during his quarter-final clash with Felix Auger-Aliassime in Qatar.

In the top half of this week's draw, Medvedev also does not have the easiest of routes through to a potential second final in Dubai, with defending champion Humbert and fellow top-15 players Stefanos Tsitsipas and Grigor Dimitrov among a list of potential opponents.

With the way the draw has panned out, there could be value in looking towards the bottom quarter for someone to enjoy a deep run.

That player could be world number eight Alex de Minaur, whose record in Dubai may not be great but he has been in strong form so far this year.

De Minaur has never won a match at this event in two previous attempts, but after reaching the quarter-finals of his home Grand Slam - the Australian Open - for the first time last month, he has since followed up with another strong showing on hard courts, making it to the final of the Rotterdam Open where he found only Alcaraz too strong.

The 26-year-old beat Roman Safiullin and Botic van de Zandschulp on his way through to the quarter-finals in Qatar last time out where he was only beaten in a deciding tiebreak by eventual champion Rublev.

A clash with Rublev could await De Minaur in the semi-finals of this event, but there are no guarantees either of those players will be at their best, even if they reach that stage, given their exploits in Doha.

De Minaur, meanwhile, should fancy his chances of winning his quarter and reaching the semi-finals.

His opening match will be against 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic, who at 36 is no longer the player he once was, while other potential opponents en route to the last four include eighth-seed Arthur Fils, who has yet to find his best form in 2025.

With seven of his nine previous ATP Tour titles coming on hard courts, De Minaur could finally enjoy a deep run in Dubai and he may be able to take his career tally of tournament successes into double figures.

Matteo Berrettini to win Dubai Tennis Championships - 16/1

Another player that could enjoy a strong run in Dubai is Matteo Berrettini, provided the Italian can overcome another former top-10 player, Gael Monfils, in what is arguably the match of the first round.

Berrettini has won his three previous meetings with Monfils and he will also feel he is playing his way into form after seeing off Djokovic and Tallon Griekspoor in Qatar before being edged out in three sets in the quarter-finals by Jack Draper.

Should he get past Monfils, Berrettini's route through to the last four could be hindered by first Dimitrov and then Tsitsipas, although neither of those players are in great form and should hold no fear for the former world number six.

From there, Berrettini will fancy his chances of going all the way and landing an 11th ATP Tour title and he certainly has strong outside claims.
