Teams with the most all-time points in Ligue 1

We take a look at the top 10 teams with the most points in Ligue 1 history.

• Olympique Marseille (4,281)

Olympique Marseille lead the way with 4,281 points in Ligue 1 history, topping the standings by over 200 points.

Much of the club's success came in the 20th century, however, winning eight of their nine league titles between 1937 and 1992, with their most recent Ligue 1 title coming in the 2009/2010 season.

• Monaco (3,938)

Monaco's impressive history consists of eight Ligue 1 honours, though, similarly to Marseille, they saw the majority of their triumphs come before the start of the 21st century.

They did, however, win the league in the 2016/17 season, a year in which the club had an abundance of emerging talent, including the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Fabinho and Bernardo Silva.

• Bordeaux (3,918)

Bordeaux's recent fall to the fourth tier of French football doesn't represent the stature that they hold in the nation when it comes to football, winning Ligue 1 on six occasions since its formation.

They have recorded 3,918 points in Ligue 1, a figure that is likely to be overtaken with the club playing their football outside of the top tier.

• Saint-Etienne (3,871)

While Saint-Etienne's presence in Ligue 1 in recent year may suggest they are a team who are frequently fighting the battle to avoid relegation, they have won Ligue 1 on 10 occasions - the joint second most successful club in the competition.

They have recorded 3,871 points in Ligue 1 history, meaning they sit fourth in the all-time standings.

• Olympique Lyon (3,745)

Astonishingly, all seven of Olympique Lyon's Ligue 1 honours came in consecutive seasons, dominating the division in the early 2000s.

Since 2008, however, they have been unable to clinch the title, though did finish as runners-up in the 2015/16 season.

• LOSC Lille (3,430)

PSG have failed to win the league just once in the last seven seasons, and that was when LOSC Lille pipped them to the title in the 2020/21 campaign.

Lille have registered 3,430 points in Ligue 1, though PSG will be eyeing up the chance of overtaking them in this list, given they are now less than 100 points behind.

• Paris Saint-Germain (3,336)

To say that PSG have dominated Ligue 1 in recent years would be an understatement, winning the league in 10 of the last 12 seasons.

Despite their recent success, they sit seventh in the all-time Ligue 1 points standings, having gone 19 years without winning the league between 1994 and 2012.

• OGC Nice (3,313)

OGC Nice make the list in eighth, despite having not won the top flight of French football since 1959.

They have recorded 3,313 points in Ligue 1 history, and they are one of just two teams in the list to have a negative overall goal difference.

• Sochaux (3,207)

Sochaux currently play their football in the third tier of French football, last partaking in Ligue 1 in the 2013/14 season where they finished 18th.

They have earned 3,207 points in Ligue 1 history, having won the top flight on two occasions.

• Stade Rennais (3,203)

Stade Rennais narrowly make the list, having earned just a point more than Nantes who miss out on the standings with 3,202 points.

Stade Rennais are the only team on the list who have failed to win Ligue 1.
