In a heavily inflated transfer market, there is now a realisation that teams have to spend big in order to compete with the best.

Such has been the case with Chelsea in recent seasons, with the Blues topping this list with the highest net in football across the past three seasons.

Under the new ownership of Todd Boehly, Chelsea have been extremely active in the transfer market, bolstering their squad with an abundance of new signings including Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
