Teahupoo favourite to win the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham

Teahupoo has been installed as the favourite to win back-to-back Stayers' Hurdles at the Cheltenham Festival.

Gordon Elliott's star enjoyed an historic 2024 National Hunt campaign - winning three Grade 1 races and becoming the first horse since 1999 to complete the Cheltenham and Punchestown Champion Stayers' Hurdle.

The eight-year-old has only appeared once this season, finishing second to Lossiemouth in the Hatton Grace's Hurdle, but many still see him as the standout performer in the division and it's clear that connections have focused their attention on Teahupoo's Stayers' Hurdle defence.

In what has already been a hugely impressive career to date, a victory for Teahupoo would see him join a list of multiple Stayers' Hurdle winners that includes the likes of Big Buck's, Inglis Driver and Flooring Porter.
