After a sensational first season back in the top flight, we've taken a look at Sunderland's wage expenditure.
Punching well above their weight, the Black Cats managed to earn themselves a place in next season's UEFA Europa League for the upcoming season, via a seventh place finish, but have struggled for form early in 2026/27.
Unsurprisingly, talismanic captain Granit Xhaka is the highest paid player at the club, earning a reported £110,000 a week.
The Swiss international is reportedly one of just three players earning six figures a week in the Sunderland squad, alongside Nordi Mukiele and Enzo Le Fee, who earn £100,000.
