Sunday's slate of games throws up two huge divisional rivalries with potential playoff consequences and a marquee matchup that may not be as close as was first thought.
The New York Jets are itching to gain revenge for their 54-13 humiliation at the hands of the New England Patriots last year while the Los Angeles Rams must use their rest advantage to keep the San Francisco 49ers behind them in the NFC West.

Odds | NE Patriots 5/7 , NY Jets 6/5 |
Playing on a short week after losing at home to the 8.5 point underdog Chicago Bears on Monday night, the New England Patriots get a welcome boost from the schedule by facing a team they have dominated for the best part of 20 years.
Incredibly, this is the first time the 5-2 Jets face the 3-4 Patriots with a better record than their division rivals since Week 12 of the 2001 season when a 24-year-old Tom Brady was making his 10th career NFL start.
It never runs perfectly for the Jets, however, who lost two of their best offensive players to season-ending injuries in another ugly road win against the Denver Broncos last week.
Zach Wilson has struggled to move the chains when the responsibility has fallen upon him and the Patriots' goal this week will be to force New York into abandoning the run as soon as possible.
Bill Belichick needs the win to move past George Halas as the outright second-winningest coach in NFL history and his quarterback Mac Jones maybe needs it to keep his starting job after being benched after three dismal series last week.
But injuries to center David Andrews and defensive lineman Christian Barmore have come at an inopportune time, particularly with Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams consistently proving a handful to interior blockers.
Defenses should dominate here and the playmaking abilities of the Jets' secondary could just be enough to get them home in a close one with New York worthy of support as 2.5 point underdogs at 10/11.
What | San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams |
Where | SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California |
When | 20:25, Sunday 30th October 2022 |
How to watch | Sky Sports NFL, NFL Game Pass & Sports Live Streaming |
Odds | SF 49ers 20/23, LA Rams 20/21 |
The Rams are coming off a bye, so they have a slight advantage for this huge divisional matchup - particularly for them.
The reigning Super Bowl champions are 3-3 - a game behind the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West - but lost 24-9 to the 3-4 Niners only four weeks ago.
If anything, San Francisco should be stronger for this rematch after getting one of the NFL's top left tackles Trent Williams and elite pass rusher Joey Bosa back from injury.
The line flipped from favoring the Rams to the Niners, despite San Francisco's 44-23 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week.
Perhaps that's because the 49ers have the pass rush to disrupt the Rams' attack and Kyle Shanahan has also enjoyed great success against Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay.
A straight up play on the road team at 20/23 could work in this spot.
What | Green Bay Packers @ Buffalo Bills |
Where | Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, New York |

Odds | GB Packers 17/4, BUF Bills 2/11 |
Some are describing this as the mortal lock of the week, if not the season, the way these two teams have played in the past month.
What seemed like it could be one of the marquee matchups of the fall when the schedule was released really should be an easy win for the 5-1 Bills.
The 3-4 Packers have lost three straight games for the first time since Matt LaFleur got his head coaching break there and there has been little evidence in the last couple of games that he knows how to fix their issues.
The underlying stats suggest Sean McDermott's team, who are coming off a bye, are the best team in football and they should prove that here.
A blowout win could be on the cards for Buffalo with Josh Allen's arm and leg talent good enough to cover the -11.0 point Spread at 10/11.
