As the only South African side to have won the United Rugby Championship since joining the competition in 2021, the Stormers will be full of hope for regaining the title this season.
Having exited the 2025/26 United Rugby Championship at the semi final stage, losing 20-11 away at eventual winners Leinster, the Stormers will know that a strong league campaign could see them return to the competition's showpiece in 2026/27.
At least one South African side has featured in the URC final in each of the seasons since their introduction, but no Springbok outfit has lifted the title in five years.
Alongside their domestic ambitions, the Stormers are also looking to be the first South African side to make the final of and/or lift the coveted Champions Cup, having been knocked out at the round of 16 stage last term.
