State of Origin latest team lists

New South Wales Blues and Queensland Maroons go head-to-head once more in the State of Origin series in Australia's flagship Rugby League series.

The best-of-three series is played between the two Australian states and is often referred to as Australia's greatest sporting rivalry, with players selected from the state which they played their first competitive rugby league fixture.

The State of Origin heads to the neutral territory of the Optus Stadium in Perth for the second fixture, after a convincing 18-6 win for the Blues in the first round.

The loss would have stung worse for Maroons coach Billy Slater with the defeat coming on home soil, and Queensland will be out for revenge in the potentially decisive second match.

Slater has taken immediate action following that loss, dropping captain Daly Cherry-Evans from the squad along with second-rower Beau Fermor.

Cameron Munster has been selected as the new captain, while Pat Carrigan and Jeremiah Nanai are named on the bench.

Star half-back Mitchell Moses has been ruled out for the Blues in a serious blow for Laurie Daley's side and he is replaced by Jarome Luai.
