The Melbourne Stars could be set for a do-or-die clash against the Hurricanes on Wednesday night after picking up a massive win against the Brisbane Heat.
The Stars are priced at 25/1 to win BBL11 but first of all they have to qualify for the finals and it looks set to go right down to the wire.
The victory over the Heat means the Stars sit in sixth spot on the ladder, two points behind the Hurricanes in fifth and the two sides go head-to-head later this week.
Captain Glenn Maxwell admits they still need results to go their way but is just delighted that the Stars are making a fight of it and taking it to the rest of the comp.

Clarke shines bright for Stars
"We needed eight points from our last two games and we've started off well," Maxwell said after the win over the Heat. "We'll have to wait on other results, but it's a good start."
Once again Maxwell was the star of the show when taking arguably the catch of BBL11, while he also took 2-19 with the ball which included the key wicket of Chris Lynn.
He also smashed 37 runs with the bat when putting on a 104-run first-wicket stand with Joe Clarke, prompting him to suggest they could open together again on Wednesday night.
"The way we're setting up in the middle order with Hilton Cartwright and Marcus Stoinis hitting the ball so powerfully, it could happen," Maxwell said.
"I start my innings a bit quicker and Joe comes into it in the back end of those four overs (powerplay) we just work really well together. It might be something we can explore going forward but there's nothing set in stone."
