Southampton striker Cameron Archer looks set to join Ligue 1 side Auxerre before the transfer window shuts.
Journalist Pete O'Rourke has reported that the Saints forward is in France for a medical at the club.
The transfer will see Archer reunite with former Southampton manager Will Still.
Archer had been the subject of interest from Championship sides Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion this summer, but it is the French side who have won the race.
Archer enjoyed successful loan spells at Preston North End and Middlesbrough whilst he was still on the books of Aston Villa.
But moves to Sheffield United and then Southampton have seen the player's career stall in recent times.
Archer has only scored six league goals for the Saints in the last two seasons and he has been pushed down the pecking order following the additions of the likes of Cyle Larin and Divin Mubama.
Auxerre boss Still will be hoping that he can help the striker rediscover his best form as he looks to rebuild his career in France.
