Our resident boxing insider Rob Tebbutt provides his best bets for Saturday's enthralling 50/50 English heavyweight title showdown between defending champion Solomon Dacres and David Adeleye.
Solomon Dacres meets David Adeleye for the English heavyweight title, in a must-win bout between two of British boxing’s next generation of heavyweight hopefuls.
Dacres enters the bout on the back of an improved stoppage win over Michael Webster last time out, but has still flattered to deceive in his relatively short professional career.
I expect Adeleye, now under the guidance of esteemed coach Adam Booth, to be improved version of the fighter we saw in defeat to Fabio Wardley.
In fact, despite the closeness of the odds, I actually make Adeleye the sizeable favourite on Saturday night.
I’m anticipating a bout that could be quite stand-offish between a pair of big lumps who will be wary of getting caught early, although I do feel that Adeleye possesses the better quality to his work and an injection of pace that Dacres has yet to show.
