Sydney's wet weather has forced trainers Peter and Paul Snowden to send I Am Superman off to Melbourne in an attempt to get back to winning ways.
The Irish-bred son of Footstepsinthesand is bound for Bendigo to contest Saturday's Listed Golden Mile, a race in which he is a 5/1 chance.
Despite heading off on his travels, I Am Superman is no stranger to Melbourne, having made four previous hit-and-run visits.
He was successful at his first trip south when scoring over 1400 metres at Caulfield in August 2020, before taking out the Group 2 Shannon Stakes at Rosehill on his next start.
I Am Superman returned to Melbourne after that victory to finish tenth in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap and seventh in the Group 1 Cantala Stakes at Flemington.
He started 2021 by finishing fourth in the Group 2 Shaftesbury Avenue Handicap at Flemington and rounded out the year finishing second to Sinawann in the Group 3 Kevin Heffernan Stakes at Caulfield in November.

Andrew Angelone, in charge of the Snowden team in Melbourne, said the plan had been to run I Am Superman in Sydney, but the weather dictated the gelding be sent south.
"He's 100 per cent better on good ground and the way Peter and Paul have been speaking about him he's going as good as ever," Angelone said.
"We'll be dictated to by the weather. If it happened to dry out a bit in Sydney, he could head back up, but ultimately, it's a good track here, so that's why he's in Melbourne."
I Am Superman, the winner of six of 26 starts to date, is yet to score over 1600 metres in Australia, but he did win over the mile as a three-year-old when trained in Ireland.
