The qualifiers for the inaugural staging of the Xi'an Grand Prix get underway in Leicester on Thursday 25th July and the game's top performers will battle it out for a place in the 64-man field and a shot at a huge £850,000 prize fund.
The qualifiers for the Xi’an Grand Prix will be available on bet365's Sports Live Streaming service.
No announcement has been made as to a UK broadcaster for the main event, which gets underway in August, but ITV and Eurosport have long-standing television deals with World Snooker.
The Xi'an Grand Prix qualifiers start on Thursday 25th July and run to Saturday 27th July at Leicester’s Mattiloli Arena.
A total of 64 qualifying matches will be played to create a final field of 64 players, who will head to Xi'an in China to contest the inaugural staging of the tournament.
The event proper is scheduled to take place from August 19th to August 25th and it will be held at the Xi'an Qujiang Sports Center.
The 2024 staging of the Xi'an Grand Prix will be the inaugural running of the event and so there are no previous winners of the Chinese competition.
The Xi'an Grand Prix will have total prize money of £850,000 and a top prize of £177,000, with the prize money to increase in subsequent years to £875,000 and then £900,000 under a new multi-year agreement with the Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association and Shaanxi Sports Industry Group Limited.
Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy and world champion Kyren Wilson are all among the field.
All players must win a qualification contest to reach the Xi'an Grand Prix first round.
