Judd Trump and Kyren Wilson have positioned themselves well to become snooker's hottest ticket, with matches between the English duo going up a notch since the latter won the World Championship last season.
They tussle at Alexandra Palace on Saturday evening in a mouthwatering Masters semi-final and it should provide thrills and spills aplenty.
Total Frames Over 9.5 - 1/1
Trump and Wilson had hugely different experiences in the last eight. The world number one trailed Ding Junhui 3-1 at the interval before rattling off five frames in a row with breaks of 97, 53, 125, 62 and 75 in a scintillating display as Trump told the Ally Pally crowd he would gladly 'play all day' feeling as he did.
World champion Wilson, meanwhile, led 3-1 against Luca Brecel later in the day and appeared to have the match at his mercy after trading frames to move 5-3 in front. Wilson was then dragged through the ringer before he got over the line.
Post-game, the Warrior admitted he was 'in bits' as he labelled the win one of the 'best of his career' having had to play on a heavily strapped ankle after sleeping awkwardly.
No mistaking, Wilson was dragged into Shredsville by the end of this contest, having missed a virtual match-ball pink in frame nine and overcut a red when among the balls in the next. Had it gone the distance, Brecel must be considered the likelier winner.
But the Warrior is made of stern stuff and showed it when outlasting the Belgian in a protracted safety battle on the pink in the concluding frame.
Wilson has very much 'survived' his two Ally Pally engagements, being outscored 712-437 on points against Zhang Anda and then digging deep to dispose of Brecel.
Trump meanwhile has hit two centuries among his 10 breaks of 50+ in beating Barry Hawkins and Ding Junhui. He is playing like the world's number one should.
Wilson has beaten Trump in the Xi'an Grand Prix final and Northern Ireland Open final this season, registering a thumping 9-3 success in Belfast, but the Ace in the Pack was a 6-2 winner when they clashed at this stage of the UK Championship in York most recently, winning six frames on the trot after trailing 2-0.
Ally Pally is a majestic arena for snooker and has a habit of producing drama. This could be closer than the odds imply, with Trump 4/9 to win, and the best option could simply be to go over 9.5 match frames at 1/1 for what could be a classic.
Judd Trump first frame winner - 4/6
Wilson has won the opening frame in his two matches this week but has been fortunate to do so.
Zhang dominated their opener but contrived to lose it on the black, while Brecel had two scoring opportunities on Friday night in frame one but eventually coughed up a chance from which Wilson made a frame-winning 71 break.
Despite winning those two frames, Wilson has effectively been a little slow to emerge from the starting blocks.
If Trump picks up where he left off against Ding on Friday afternoon, he can take the opening frame.
Judd Trump 2 Match Centuries - 11/4
Trump continues to excel himself on the biggest stages. He has set a new record for prize money in a single season by making it to the semi-finals in London and if he wins the Masters on Sunday only Ronnie O'Sullivan and Stephen Hendry will have claimed the title more times.
The Bristolian has notched one century apiece in his wins over Hawkins and Ding, but the manner in which he went through the gears in his quarter-final suggests he's growing stronger as this week goes on.
He's on 49 ton-plus breaks for the season and could well add a couple more in this tantalising last-four encounter.
