Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler will team up to take on Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau in an 18-hole golf exhibition billed 'The Showdown'.
McIlroy remains the biggest name in golf while Scheffler is undoubtedly the best performer in golf. Ranked number one in the world, Scheffler added another Masters title and PLAYERS Championship to his resume in 2024, as well as winning five more PGA TOUR events.
Koepka and DeChambeau, despite their defections to LIV Golf, remain two of the most high-profile players in the sport. Koepka is a five-time major champion, while DeChambeau has two US Open wins to his name and is becoming increasingly prominent on social media thanks to his YouTube channel.
The duo had a well publicised rivalry a few years ago, but have since buried the hatchet and will take on PGA TOUR stars McIlroy and Scheffler.
The Showdown will take place on Tuesday 17th December 2024. The start time is still to be confirmed, but it is expected to be early afternoon local time, making it late evening in the UK.
The Showdown will be broadcast on TNT Sports in the UK. Live streaming of TNT Sports is available via the discovery+ app.
The Showdown will be 18 holes of match play, using the four-ball format. Each player will play their own ball and the player with the lowest score wins the hole. The team with the most holes will win the match.
The Showdown will be played at Shadow Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas.
No prize money is on offer for The Showdown with all four players playing for pride, but reports have suggested that each player will pocket $4 million for appearing.
