This will be the fifth successive world title fight that the Welshman has participated in.
22-0 (10 KOs)
Shakur Stevenson is a two-weight world champion and is commonly recognised as one of the sport's current pound-for-pound superstars.
The Newark power-puncher has held both the WBO's featherweight title and the WBC and WBO super-welterweight straps, whilst he also captured an Olympic silver medal in the bantamweight class in 2016.
The unbeaten fighter possesses an impressive record, having seen off the likes of Joet Gonazalez, Jamel Herring and Oscar Valdez, and will be confident of adding Joe Cordina's name to that list in October.
17-1 (9 KOs)
Joe Cordina is one of British boxing's most talented fighters having twice held super-featherweight world titles.
The Welshman stopped Kenichi Ogawa in sensational fashion to land world honours for the first time in June 2022, before an untimely injury saw him stripped off the belt a few months later after he was forced to pull out of his scheduled first defence against Shavkat Rakhimov.
He bounced back from that disappointment by recapturing the IBF title from Rakhimov in the summer of 2023, before his second title defence ended in anguish as Englishman Anthony Cacace produced a career best showing to upstage the champion in Saudi Arabia earlier this year.
An absolutely stacked undercard has been officially announced for Artur Beterbiev v Dmitry Bivol featuring some of the biggest names in British boxing, including Joe Cordina.
