Founded in 1929, Serie B represents the second tier of Italian professional football, a division below Serie A.
Over its history, Serie B has been played under various guises, with anywhere between 16 and 60 clubs partaking, before settling on the current 20.
Here is everything you need to know about Serie B.
The 2024/25 Serie B season started on 16th August 2024 and will finish on 9th May 2025.
Like many European leagues, Serie B sees the whole league play each other once at home and once away before the play-offs at the end of the campaign.
The teams finishing first and second enjoy automatic promotion to Serie A, with the teams finishing between third and eighth partaking in play-offs.
