Andi Purewal provides his best bets, tips and fight prediction for Sebastian Fundora vs Ermal Hadribeaj in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Odds were correct at the time of writing and are subject to fluctuation.
‘The Towering Inferno’ Sebastian Fundora has continued to impress at world level after suffering a shock stoppage defeat to Brian Mendoza in 2023.
Fighters have generally struggled to deal with Fundora’s dimensions as he stands at 6 foot 6 inches tall and holds an 80 inch reach.
His awkward dimensions make it difficult for fighters to get on the inside and take away his best assets.
Fundora has 16 KO’s to his name from 24 victories, and having won his last three fights by knockout, he seems to have found a new flow to his work that you’d expect to carry on into this weekend.
Hadribeaj is a slick southpaw who may cause Fundora a few early problems before he finds his rhythm.
But, given that the challenger has never competed at this level, it is a huge ask to step up and face someone with the attributes of the gangly Californian and come away with a victory.
I expect the Albanian to have some early success but ultimately Fundora should find a way to break down his opponent with his relentless work and high output.
It’s difficult to see a route to success for Hadribeaj if he can’t keep Fundora off him.
I am struggling to see anything other than a stoppage victory during the second half of the fight for Fundora, with the price of 11/5 'Between Rounds 7 - 9' really catching my eye.
The big pre-fight favourite has proven in the past that he packs the power to halt his opponents inside the distance, but he does also like to bide his time and figure the best course of action to do that.
Fundora will have to work out the slick Albanian for a few rounds but once he does then he will takeover and find a way to put Hadribeaj in real danger.
Fundora, who knows that victory will put him a step closer to a huge unification bout with Jaron Ennis, packs a real punch and I can see him dropping his opponent mulltiple times en-route to victory.
With so much at stake, and future riches and glory ahead, I can’t see Fundora falling again the way he did against Mendoza as he is now on the cusp of some career defining fights.
