Despite a sustained challenge from a revitalised Rangers under the stewardship of Belgian manager Philippe Clement, Celtic were too good once again as Brendan Rodgers marked his return to Celtic Park with the 2023/24 title.

Whilst it looked like a title race of old at the turn of the year, Celtic found another gear in the sprint for home and finished the season with aplomb, registering six consecutive league victories.

It was ultimately the Old Firm matches that decided the destination of the trophy, with Celtic winning three and drawing one of the four league tussles with their Glasgow rivals.

They also rounded off the season by beating Rangers 1-0 in the Scottish Cup Final thanks to Adam Idah's 90th minute winner.

Despite the 2023/24 campaign belonging to Celtic, Rangers have progressed under Clement and they are 6/4 to build on their League Cup triumph by winning the Scottish Premiership next season.

If Celtic were to retain their trophy in 2024/25, it would be their 13th title in 14 seasons and also bring them level with Rangers on 55 league titles.
