Stay Away Fay is 10/1 to win the Scottish Grand National at Ayr Racecourse on Saturday afternoon.
Paul Nicholls' six-year-old was pulled up as Fact To File took the honours in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase at last month's Cheltenham Festival.
Connections will be hopeful that the performance at Prestbury Park will prove to be a minor speed bump for a seven-year-old who could go on to be one of the stars of next season.
Last year's Albert Bartlett winner was declared a 'future Gold Cup' horse by Nicholls after a winning performance on his chasing debut at Exeter in November, before another fine display to prevail in the Grade 2 Esher Novices' Chase at Sandown.
After finishing third in the Cotswold Chase, hopes were high heading to Cheltenham and jockey Harry Cobden will be targeting the Scottish Grand National in an attempt to end Stay Away Fay's season on a high.
Stay Away Fay is currently priced at 50/1 to win the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day and 100/1 to win next year's Gold Cup, with those odds likely to tumble if his trip to Ayr is a winning one.
