World number one Scottie Scheffler produced a magnificent performance to win the 2025 Open Championship on Sunday.
Scheffler headed into the final round of the 153rd Open with a four-shot lead over China's Haotong Li, with Masters champion Rory McIlroy lurking two shots further back.
After three classy under-par rounds of 68, 64 and 67, Scheffler went round in 68 on Sunday to finish on -17 for the tournament.
He finished four shots clear of fellow American Harris English as he won his fourth major to add to his two Masters triumphs and his win at the US PGA Championship.
Scheffler has now become the fourth player to win the Masters, the US PGA Championship and the Open before the age of 30, emulating greats Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
He has also emulated compatriot Xander Schauffele, who was victorious at last year's US PGA Championship before prevailing in the Open.
Scheffler is now the second player to win the Open whilst sitting at the top of the the world rankings after former winner Tiger Woods, who was able to achieve the feat on three occasions.
The 29-year-old has taken his tally of tournament wins for the year to four, after following up his Byron Nelson triumph with his wins at the US PGA Championship and the Memorial Tournament.
