Amongst all of Scottie Scheffler's achievements over the last few years, his remarkable made cut streak is up there with the best of them.
Seeing Scheffler finish outside the top 10 of a tournament is a rarity; to miss the cut these days is unheard of.
You have to go all the way back to August 2022 for the last time Scheffler failed to play the weekend at the FedEx St Jude Championship. Scheffler missed an eight-foot birdie putt on 16 which would have got him back inside the cut line. Instead, he'd miss the cut by one shot.
Coincidentally, when excluding FedExCup play-off events, Scheffler's previous missed cut was the month before, when missing the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open, where his cut streak is coming to an unceremonious halt. Scheffler was -1 on the 18th hole needing a birdie to have a chance of making the weekend, but failed to get up and down, making bogey and ending any chances of playing the weekend.
Xander Schauffele previously held the longest active cuts made streak on the PGA Tour with 72, but his missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open this year saw Scheffler take over with 65.
Since then, Scheffler has made the cut at 13 more events, surpassing Schauffele's record of 72 to set a record of 78, which puts him fifth on the all-time PGA Tour list.
Matt Fitzpatrick's made cut at the Scottish Open will take his streak to 28 made cuts after an excellent 12 months, which would see him hold the longest active cut streak on the PGA Tour.
