Western Force coach Tim Sampson has called for patience with young playmaker Reesjan Pasitoa following calls for him to be fast-tracked into the Wallabies set-up.
Australia are priced at 10/1 to win the 2023 Rugby World Cup and there is a chance Pasitoa could be knocking on the door to make the squad.
The 20-year-old caught the eye with a dazzling performance in Friday night's impressive 28-3 win over Melbourne and former Test great Tim Horan was glowing with his praise.
Now a commentator Horan tweeted: "Reesjan Pasitoa has to be in the Wallabies squad in 2022. Early days I know, but he is a future star. At 20 years old, the time is right."
Sampson has been equally impressed with the youngster and says he has so far passed every test that has been handed to him.
"He had a really good pre-season with us. We threw a lot of responsibility his way over the last few months and it was by design," Sampson said. "We wanted to challenge him and enable him to show some leadership qualities in meetings and out on the field. He's going really well."
Sampson is also in no doubt that Pasitoa has what it takes to play for the Wallabies but is keen to keep the pressure off his young shoulders for now.
"We've just got to relax and let the young fella concentrate on week to week what he needs to for himself and also for our team," Sampson said. "He's got a bright future, no doubt, but let's not put too much pressure on him."
