Ryan Moore booked for SIX rides at Newmarket on Saturday

The UK's best jockey, Ryan Moore, has a book of six rides on the final day of the Newmarket July Festival.

Aidan O'Brien's number one pilot, even by his lofty standards, is enjoying a stellar season and on course to take his Group 1 tally into double figures this weekend when he takes part in the July Cup.

It's a race that Moore has won twice before courtesy of back-to-back successes aboard U.S Navy Flag and Ten Sovereigns in 2018 & 2019 respectively. Although it is an extremely deep race, the 42-year-old gets the leg up on an impressive Royal Ascot winner and appears to have a decent chance of bringing up the hat-trick.

We take a look at Moore's six rides in a little more depth...

Horse Racing

13:40 - Haffner

Moore has a nice opportunity to get his day off to the perfect start aboard Haffner (11/8) in the opening contest.

This once-raced son of superstar stallion Justify shaped perfectly well behind fellow O'Brien inmate Abraham Lincoln (we'll get to him later) and is likely to be sent off as favourite.

Given his breeding, the extra furlong he will encounter here should be right up his street and improvement can be expected from his first to second start.

14:52 - Wechaad

Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum has two decent chances in race number three and Wechaad (9/2), trained by Roger Varian, arrives here off the back of an unfortunate seventh in the Britannia Stakes.

Although he did get the better side of the draw that day, he was a touch sticky when leaving the gates and didn't get the clearest path through to the line when finishing well on the near side.

The Britannia is always a hot race and might have a chance with his mark left untouched.

15:25 - Supido

Another handicap and another outside ride for Moore, who this time has been sounded out by trainer Ian Williams.

His mount, Supido (17/2) opened his account for the season when winning a strong handicap at the Chester May Meeting under Billy Loughnane and gets in here off a mark that is just 3lbs higher.

The four-year-old had an official rating of 100 this time last year and if he can get back to that form then he could defy a mark of 93, although this is a very competitive-looking Bunbury Cup.

16:00 - Abraham Lincoln

Debut success at the Curragh before victory in the Superlative Stakes was the exact path taken by City Of Troy three years ago and Abraham Lincoln (5/6) is aiming to emulate the former Ballydoyle superstar this weekend.

He was great on debut when defeating aforementioned stablemate Haffner and a follow-up success in Saturday's Group 2 would likely see him assume favouritism for next year's 2000 Guineas.

The Wootton Bassett colt is 20/1 for the Newmarket Classic, a price that could look rather large if he is to find himself in the winners' enclosure at HQ.

16:35 - Mission Central

Moore arguably produced the ride of the meeting when he delivered Mission Central (5/1) to absolute perfection to win the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Connections opted to take on the older horses instead of having a crack at his own age group in the Commonwealth Cup, however, he will meet the winner of that race in Venetian Sun this weekend.

A stunning field as assembled for the July Cup with not one, but three Group 1 winners from this year's Royal meeting; Almeraq making up the decorated trio.

Drawn seven, he will be flanked by Satono Reve and Coppull, so, in theory, he should have a nice pace to aim at.

17:10 - Exposure

Moore's sixth and final chance of a winner on the July course comes aboard the Juddmonte-owned Exposure.

John & Thady Gosden only acquired the Expert Eye gelding at the beginning of the season, producing a decent effort to finish seventh in a hot handicap at the track last month on his sole start for the yard.

Stem, the fourth from that race, has won since, giving an indication that the form might be quite decent.
