Turki Alalshikh has confirmed that Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney will lock-horns for a second time later this year after their first bout ended in hugely controversial fashion, and we've got all the details you need ahead of the blockbuster October 2025 rematch.
Ryan Garcia v Devin Haney 2 is expected to be announced for October, 2025, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed.
Turki Alalshikh revealed plans for the fight during 'The Last Crescendo' - a bumper bill of boxing that was topped by the undisputed light-heavyweight championship rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
Although the fight hasn't yet been officially rubber-stamped, fans in the United Kingdom can expect the showdown to get underway in the early hours, given the expectation that the card will be staged in the United States, which is at least five hours behind GMT.
No official location has yet been announced, but Turki Alalshikh refused to play down New York's Times Square as the potential destination for the fight.
Either way, New York is expected to house the bout, whether it be Times Square or Madison Square Garden - a boxing hotbed.
Ryan Garcia was initially perceived to have comprehensively won the first showdown, knocking Devin Haney down to the canvas three times en-route to a majority decision success.
There was some controversy surrounding the closeness of the card however, given the fact that Garcia had floored his opponent three times, although there was even greater controversy when the bout was declared a no contest after the victor tested positive for a banned substance.
As a consequence, Garcia was handed a boxing ban which is scheduled to expire in late April, paving the way for his return to action in May - a fight that will serve as a warm-up ahead of the scheduled blockbuster October rematch.
It's expected that Ryan Garcia v Devin Haney 2 will take place in the welterweight division (147lbs) - which is a level up from their previous bout at super-lightweight (140lbs).
Given the fact that both Garcia and Haney will be making their welterweight debuts in May, on the same card, it's expected that the rematch between the pair will be staged at the same weight class.
