South Africa v New Zealand Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

The Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series is superbly poised at 1-1, with the third Test taking place on Saturday in Johannesburg before next week's final match in Baltimore.

That will be the first time South Africa and New Zealand have met in the USA, but, after games in Johannesburg and Cape Town, the pair return to Joburg, with 80,000 fans waiting in anticipation at FNB Stadium.

New Zealand won the first match 33-16 before the Springboks levelled the series with a 33-26 success.

The Kiwis may relish being back at altitude, but the Boks look to have the momentum going into this third Test of four.

South Africa v New Zealand Prediction

Best Bet: South Africa to win by 1-12 points @ 8/5

New Zealand's tour of South Africa took time to gather momentum, but both Tests have delivered, and the third instalment is the one they both want to win.

Victory will mean they have at least a series draw guaranteed heading to Baltimore.

The Kiwis caught the Boks out at Ellis Park and, back at altitude, may favour an aerial game, especially with full-back Damian Willemse absent and the excellent yet diminutive Cheslin Kolbe moving across from the wing.

However, the momentum looks to be with South Africa, who may feel they owe the crowd in Johannesburg a performance.

They have picked a physical pack that may prevent the All Blacks from getting the quick ball they crave.

Even five Tests into his reign, Dave Rennie already looks to be building something with this New Zealand team, but opposite number Rassie Erasmus is arguably the greatest coach ever and his side can squeeze to a 2-1 advantage.

Alternative Bet: Malcom Marx anytime tryscorer @ 8/5

South Africa hooker Malcolm Marx was named in the side last week, only to be moved to the bench on gameday.

However, he came on after 35 minutes in what appeared to be a predetermined change and could go the distance on Saturday, with understudy Deon Fourie also able to play in the back row.

Marx has scored 19 international tries, with six against the Kiwis, suggesting he is due a score after missing out so far in this series.

South Africa v New Zealand Bet Builder Tip

  • Jesse Kriel to score a try

  • Will Jordan to score a try

  • Over 3.5 New Zealand tries

    Pays 19/2

South Africa centre Jesse Kriel scored the opening try in Cape Town and is now on four for 2026.

The Bok star is having a year to remember, but can't match All Black winger Will Jordan's numbers. He went over twice at Ellis Park to take his international try tally for the year to eight, and 53 in 59 caps up to last week's match.

Both are backed to score on Saturday, with Jordan's effort contributing to the All Blacks notching over 3.5 tries.

They have scored five and four tries in the first and second Tests, having also managed that feat in all three Nations Championship matches in July.
