Scotland v New Zealand Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

Scotland have never beaten New Zealand, and their wait is expected to continue beyond Saturday's Nations Championship meeting at Murrayfield.

The pair have locked horns 33 times, with the All Blacks winning 31 and the duo duking out two draws.

Last November, a fast start to the second half saw Scotland level the scores at 17-17 before Damian McKenzie won the match with a try and late penalty goal.

The Scots had a typically mixed 2026 Six Nations, losing to Italy and Ireland before beating Argentina and Fiji in the summer, either side of a loss to South Africa.

New Zealand faced the Springboks four times in their Greatest Rivalry series, losing 3-1, but have since beaten Australia home and away last month.

Despite results not always going their way, Dave Rennie looks to be building something with the All Blacks.

They won their first three Nations Championship fixtures in July and are neck and neck with South Africa in the Southern Hemisphere standings.

New Zealand need a big result to keep pace with the Boks, who are expected to outclass Italy earlier on Saturday.

Scotland v New Zealand Prediction

Best Bet: New Zealand -10.5 points @ 1/1

However much you believe in the Scots, they always seem to let you down.

Number eight Jack Dempsey has even admitted this week that "we can be the best team in the world for 20 minutes and we can be the worst team in the world for 20 minutes".

With less than a year to the Rugby World Cup, it's time for them to start getting results, but the All Blacks look too strong.

Rennie has made an encouraging start after replacing Scott Robertson and his team scored 121 points in bonus-point wins over France, Italy and Ireland in July.

With South Africa expected to outclass Italy on Saturday, the Kiwis need another big win to keep pace in the battle to win the Southern Hemisphere division.

They have a strong bench and while Scotland will play some good rugby, they may not be able to live with the Kiwis over 80 minutes.

Alternative Bet: Cam Roigard anytime tryscorer @ 1/1

The best scrum-half in the world? Cam Roigard is certainly pushing Antoine Dupont in that debate and he scored three tries during the July section of the Nations Championship.

Roigard also dotted down during the Greatest Rivalry series and got another try in the opening Bledisloe Cup Test.

The 25-year-old scored the first try in last year's win at Murrayfield and will exploit any loose Scotland play around the ruck.

Scotland v New Zealand Bet Builder Tip

  • Scotland under 24.5 points

  • Will Jordan anytime tryscorer

  • Peter Lakai anytime tryscorer

Pays 10/1

The Scots struggle to take their chances and have scored between 14 and 23 points in the last six meetings, so under 24.5 points makes sense as a starting point for this Bet Builder.

Similarly, Will Jordan's incredible international try-scoring record is worth factoring in. Jordan's six tries in July were the most of any player in the first part of the Nations Championship, and he also went over last year in Edinburgh.

Finally, flanker Peter Lakai scored tries in both of last month's Bledisloe Cup Tests and is tipped to make it three in a row to complete this treble.
