Leinster v Bath: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Leinster already have a home tie in the last 16 of the European Rugby Champions Cup assured, but that has not stopped them naming a strong line-up for their final Pool 2 home game against Bath on Saturday.

Head coach Leo Cullen is fully aware of the value home advantage brings in the latter stages of this prestigious competition and finishing as the top seed would see Leinster play at home in the quarter-finals if they make it.

That means a host of Ireland internationals have been named in this starting XV and Leinster will certainly take some stopping to be denied the victory on their own patch.

However, Bath are no mugs and this side, who are frontrunners in the Premiership standings for a reason, can push Leinster all the way at the Aviva Stadium this weekend.

Leinster v Bath betting tips and predictions

Bath +17.0 handicap - Evens

Last year’s Premiership Grand Final runners-up Bath are leading the way in the Premiership and showing signs that they can make a return to the showpiece event at Twickenham.

Bath’s efforts in Europe have been mixed, with narrow defeats to La Rochelle and Benetton followed by an impressive 40-21 victory over Clermont at The Recreation Ground.

Given confidence from that win over Top 14 outfit Clermont, Bath have the opportunity to test themselves against one of the best in the business when they face Leinster on their own patch.

The province have been in outstanding form with 12 wins on the bounce in all competitions. However, they have hardly been blowing away teams at home.

Beating Clermont 15-7 and Connacht 20-12 in their last two home outings, visiting sides have been able to run Leinster close and Bath look to be good value with the +17.0 handicap here.

Hugo Keenan anytime tryscorer - 7/5

Making a return from injury just in time for the start of the Six Nations later this month, Hugo Keenan will be a welcomed figure back in the No.15 jersey this weekend.

A player who should be fresh for the big games to come, Keenan is likely to be a major threat for Leinster out in the wide channels on Saturday.

Scoring a try the last time Leinster met Bath back in 2022, Keenan can add to his try collection against the West Country outfit this weekend.

Finn Russell anytime tryscorer - 11/2

Another player to look out for in the anytime tryscorer market is Finn Russell, who already has four to his name for club and country this season.

The Scotland fly-half, who scored against Australia in the Autumn Nations Series and most recently in Bath’s last game against Clermont, has been adding more tries to his game this season.

Only scoring one try for club and country in the 2023/24 campaign, Russell has already quadrupled that tally and is good value to go over for a try in Dublin this weekend.
