A superstar in the rugby world, Antoine Dupont will be dreaming of lifting the Webb Ellis Cup in front of his home crowd as France captain this autumn.
|Place of Birth||Lannemezan, France|
Antoine Dupont is the captain of France's international rugby union team. He has registered 60 points for Les Bleus across 48 appearances and has captained the side since the autumn of 2021.
Born in Lannemezan, Dupont grew up in Castelnau-Magnoac, a small commune with a population of under 1,000 people - making his rise to stardom all the more impressive.
Dupont is 26 years old. He was born on 15th November 1996.
Dupont plays his domestic rugby for Toulouse, starring for the French side since 2017 when he joined from his first senior side, Castres.
The scrum-half has racked up 103 appearances for Toulouse, scoring 220 points in that time.
Dupont has spent his whole career playing as a scrum-half and he has already developed into one of the best to ever play in the position.
At just 26 years old, Dupont has the capacity to raise his level even further.
Dupont has also played at fly-half for club side Toulouse, and there is a possibility the French skipper could be deployed in this role at the World Cup due to the absence of Romain Ntamack through injury.
A complete rugby player, Dupont has both the strength to hold his own in physical exchanges and the technical skill to create tryscoring chances at will with ball in hand.
It is very difficult to establish weaknesses in Dupont's armour, with the 26-year-old also possessing great speed off the mark and an accurate kicking game which continues to improve.
Since taking on the captaincy with France, Dupont's leadership skills also appear to be rising to the surface and Les Bleus will lean on his influence heavily at the World Cup.
Dupont scores the first try of the match during the Six Nations clash between France and Ireland, Stade de France, 1th February 2022.
A superstar both on and off the pitch, Dupont is a man of many talents.
The Frenchman featured on the front cover of GQ France in 2021 in an unexpected feature that took social media by storm.
It's not all just smashing tackles and good looks for Dupont though.
Despite being one of the biggest talents in rugby, he has used his time outside of training to study for a masters degree in Sports Management, graduating in 2019.
Dupont has scored 12 tries for France, half of which have come in the Six Nations.
Dupont has captained the national side since 2021, where he was initially drafted in as a temporary replacement through injury.
However, after guiding his side to their first Six Nations trophy, and Grand Slam, in over a decade, the superstar scrum-half has kept the role on a permanent basis.
Antoine Dupont represented France at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Dupont made three appearances in total, scoring a try in France's 23-21 Pool C victory over Argentina, before Les Bleus were edged out 20-19 by Wales in the quarter-finals.
