The end of the Super League season is fast approaching and both Warrington Wolves and St Helens have designs on running out at Old Trafford in next month's Grand Final.
Saints have been regular visitors to the Theatre of Dreams during the summer era, lifting the title nine times at the Manchester venue and finishing as runners-up on another five occasions since 1999.
Warrington, meanwhile, have made it to the big dance on four occasions but have been unable to end their long wait to be crowned rugby league champions.
It is 69 years since the Wire's last championship success but the Wolves have already wrapped up their play-off place with three rounds of the regular season still to play and they have been one of Super League's best sides this season.
Warrington -8 - 5/6
Warrington Wolves fans have become accustomed to disappointment whenever their side has gone up against local rivals St Helens.
Saints have dominated this fixture in that time, winning 58 of the pair's 77 league meetings in the Super League era.
The Red Vee's record in Warrington makes even grimmer reading for the Wolves, who have beaten Saints at home just six times in the league since 1996.
There is a chance the tide may be turning this season, however, with Warrington successful in both of their meetings away to the Saints in 2024.
The Wolves were convincing 31-8 winners in the Challenge Cup in April and three months later they overcame the sending off of James Harrison to win 24-10 at the Totally Wicked Stadium in Super League.
That defeat is one of seven for the Saints in their last 10 outings and they have beaten only ninth-placed Hull, Salford, who are fifth, and second-bottom Hull in that time.
The Saints were thrashed 42-6 by Hull KR and beaten 20-0 by fierce rivals Wigan at Magic Weekend prior to last week's 18-10 success at Huddersfield. There is a chance they will be found wanting once more against Warrington, who have won eight of their last 10 Super League outings.
Josh Thewlis first tryscorer - 8/1
Matt Dufty (17) and Matty Ashton (14) have been the leaders in the tryscoring stakes for Warrington this season but right winger Josh Thewlis could set the Wolves on their way against Saints.
The visitors were put to the sword by Hull KR's right edge a couple of weeks ago when Joe Burgess touched down for four tries, and Thewlis, who has crossed for 10 Super League tries this season, will provide them with a huge test of their defensive resolve.
Thewlis was one of five tryscorers in Warrington's 31-8 rout of the Saints in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals.
Total points odd - 9/2
Putting points on the board whenever the opportunity arises becomes even more vital in big games, so the chances of a successful drop goal at the Halliwell Jones are perhaps higher than usual.
Warrington slotted over a one-pointer in April's cup meeting on the stroke of half-time to give them a slender advantage heading into the break before running away with the match in the second period, and it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see them do the same if the game is finely poised.
It's 4/1 that a drop goal is successfully converted in Saturday's clash but backing the total points to be an odd number offers slightly better value at 9/2.
