Warrington Wolves v Hull KR: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Hull KR have recovered from a hammering away at the Catalans by recording impressive victories over champions Wigan and St Helens, but may come unstuck away at Warrington on Thursday.

The Robins have scored more tries, made more clean breaks and produced the joint-most offloads in this season's Super League. However, the Wire have made a competition-leading number of metres, and it promises to be an open contest at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Matt Dufty's 69th-minute try helped Warrington secure a 22-20 win at Craven Park in March, and the full-back is one of several Wolves stars worth looking at ahead of this match.

Warrington Wolves v Hull KR betting tips and predictions

Warrington -5.5 - 4/5

Both sides have 14 points after 10 games and are involved in a fascinating battle for the play-off places.

KR have really kicked on since Willie Peters took over in 2023, while opposite number Sam Burgess is justifying the Wire's faith. He might be a rookie coach, but the 35-year-old's rugby league IQ is enabling him to make great strides in his first season as a coach.

Burgess is part of a strong coaching unit that also includes former Salford boss Richard Marshall and ex-England stars Martin Gleeson and Ade Gardner and is overseen by Wolves stalwart Gary Chambers.

Chambers coached the team through the final part of 2023, guiding them to sixth. He and Burgess will be targeting a top-four place, like KR achieved in 2023, and at the very least, a home draw in the Eliminators.

Their home form will be vital and Warrington have been good at the Halliwell Jones, winning four out of five league games.

KR's attacking intent demonstrates that Peters' first season wasn't a fluke and has made them one of the most entertaining teams in the competition.

The Robins have won two of their four away outings and will be buoyed by those brilliant wins over Wigan and St Helens.

Both of those were at home, though, and after bouncing back from a defeat at Salford by beating Hull FC 24-6 in their last game, the Wolves can double up on Thursday.

Matt Dufty anytime tryscorer - 11/8

Matt Dufty scored the decisive try in this season's previous match at Craven Park.

Fellow back-three star Josh Thewlis took the headlines with a hat-trick and four conversions against Hull FC, but it could be Dufty's turn on Thursday.

The pair are now both on eight tries for the year, but Dufty is the more potent, making more metres than any other player (1845 - an average of 184.50) in the league and averaging a division-high 20.6 carries per game.

After going two matches without crossing the whitewash, Dufty looks due a score.

George Williams anytime tryscorer - 13/5

George Williams' try against Hull FC increased his total to five for the 2024 season and that tally includes his team's opening effort in the meeting at Craven Park in March.

The 29-year-old has always looked happier playing at six rather than seven, with the extra space at stand-off providing greater scope for his running game, allowing him to shape his team's attack in the wide channels.

Williams also went over in the defeat at Salford and in an open game against a side that always looks to offload, the ball could come loose and he is a candidate to latch onto possession and streak away.
