Two sides bidding to get their Super League play-off pursuits back on track will meet at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday as Warrington Wolves face Hull Kingston Rovers.
Warrington have spent much of the season in the top two under Sam Burgess but a run of three defeats in four has seen them slip down to fourth with pressure mounting from the teams below.
Hull KR are one of those teams and the fifth-placed Robins can leapfrog their opponents with a victory, but their own form is also patchy, with their derby success over Hull FC coming either side of defeats to Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity.
Best Bet - Hull KR -6.5 @ 10/11
Alternative Bet - Joe Burgess anytime tryscorer @ 21/20
Bet Builder - Hull KR to win & Jai Whitbread and Matty Ashton anytime tryscorers @ 16/1
Best Bet: Hull KR -6.5 @ 10/11
After a strong first half to the Super League season, the wheels have been threatening to come off for Warrington over recent weeks, with injuries not helping their cause.
Jordy Crowther remains on the sidelines alongside Josh Thewlis, the latter having undergone ankle surgery earlier this week which could keep him out of action until September.
The absence of such key players has certainly contributed to the Wire's poor form, as they have not only lost three of their last four, but those defeats have all been by at least a 12-point margin.
Hull KR's own title defence has threatened to unravel following two defeats in three, but those losses came against the top two in Leeds and Wakefield, who are the only teams to have beaten them in Super League since March - a run of 13 matches.
The Robins will be confident they can bounce back against a misfiring Warrington, especially as they have won each of the last six head-to-heads.
The most recent of those successes was a 32-12 victory in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup in May and a similarly emphatic success could be on the cards for Willie Peters' team.
Alternative Bet: Joe Burgess anytime tryscorer @ 21/20
Joe Burgess has already proved the scourge of Warrington once this season and he could have another major say following his two-try haul in the Challenge Cup semi-final meeting between the pair.
That was one of three tries the 31-year-old wing produced in KR's Challenge Cup run, while he was also on the scoresheet in February's World Club Challenge victory over the Brisbane Broncos.
Those efforts go alongside 13 tries in 13 Super League appearances for Burgess in 2026, while he made his return in last week's defeat to Wakefield after two games out with a shoulder injury.
That run out will have done the former Wigan Warriors star some good and with two tries in his last three appearances, he looks as capable as anyone of getting on the scoresheet on Saturday.
Hull KR to win
Jai Whitbread anytime tryscorer
Matty Ashton anytime tryscorer
Pays 16/1
Hull KR have certainly had Warrington's number of late, with their six-game winning streak against the Wolves including a Challenge Cup final victory in 2025, a semi-final success in the same competition this year and two Super League triumphs at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
A Robins victory is the way to start this bet builder and prop Jai Whitbread could be a contender to continue his impressive tryscoring form.
The Australian has contributed four tries in his last seven Super League appearances and his overall tally of eight for the season is already his best since moving from the NRL in 2021.
On the other side, Warrington wing Matty Ashton is always a smart pick for a try and if he crosses on Saturday it will be a landmark one, as it will be his 100th for the club.
After making a fast start to the season, by his own high standards Ashton suffered something of a lull over the spring, but three tries in his last four games suggests he is getting back to his clinical best.
