Warrington Wolves vs Hull FC Tips, Predictions and Bet Builder

Time is of the essence for Warrington Wolves if they want to give themselves a chance of reaching the Super League Grand Final this season.

The Wire have won only two of their last nine Super League outings and will fall further off the play-offs pace if sixth-placed Hull FC win at the Halliwell Jones Stadium for a second time this season on Saturday.

Warrington Wolves vs Hull FC Prediction

Best Bet: Hull FC @ 7/4

Warrington's campaign may be in danger of petering out after two wins in their last nine Super League matches, but Hull FC's recent resurgence has come at just the right time.

The Airlie Birds have won three of their last four to move back into the top six and a trip to the Halliwell Jones, where they won 28-16 in April, won't faze them.

Hull's trio of recent wins have come on the road at Leigh, Catalans and Salford, and there is no reason why they can't sample more away success on Saturday given Warrington's woes.

Matthew Ireland explains:

Hull FC have already won at Warrington this season and the Airlie Birds have to be worth taking a chance on at the prices, especially as the Wolves have been in dire form.

Warrington Wolves vs Hull FC Bet Builder Tip

  • Hull to win

  • Herman Ese'ese anytime tryscorer

  • Lewis Martin anytime tryscorer

    Pays 22/1

With Hull fancied to claim the spoils at the Halliwell Jones they form the cornerstone of our Bet Builder for Saturday's match - and the Black & Whites' top two tryscorers could lead the way.

Academy graduate Lewis Martin has made hay down Hull's left edge this season and was the third-highest tryscorer in Super League ahead of round 16 with 12 scores.

Giant prop Herman Ese'ese is not far behind the young winger with seven in the league and nine in all competitions.

Ese'ese is nigh on impossible to contain in the shadow of the posts and he could find a Warrington pack lacking a bit of bite something of a soft touch.

Matthew Ireland adds:

Herman Ese'ese has been a one-man wrecking ball for Hull this season. He has proved extremely tough to stop near the tryline and so too has winger Lewis Martin, and the pair could lead the Airlie Birds to another away win.

Tactics, Form and Team News

Warrington have been in dreadful form and have a five-point gap to bridge in the race for the top six with 12 regular-season matches remaining.

Injuries have not helped the Wolves' cause, but they welcome back Matt Dufty and James Harrison from injury to face sixth-placed Hull, although head coach Sam Burgess has said Dufty's involvement is not guaranteed.

Warrington Wolves 21-man squad: Jordy Crowther, Ben Currie, Matt Dufty, Lachlan Fitzgibbon, James Harrison, Toby King, Tom McKinney, Joe Philbin, Sam Powell, Stefan Ratchford, Sam Stone, Marc Sneyd, Rodrick Tai, Jake Thewlis, Josh Thewlis, Luke Thomas, Paul Vaughan, George Williams, Max Wood, Connor Wrench, Luke Yates.

Will Pryce, Ligi Sao, Jed Cartwright, John Asiata and Jordan Lane remain sidelined for Hull, who make one change to their squad who beat Salford last weekend.

Hooker Will Hutchinson replaces Balmforth after the latter joined Catalans Dragons on loan earlier this week.

Hull FC 21-man squad: Aidan Sezer, Amir Bourouh, Brad Fash, Cade Cust, Davy Litten, Ed Chamberlain, Harvey Barron, Herman Ese’ese, Jack Ashworth, Jack Charles, Jordan Rapana, Lewis Martin, Liam Knight, Logan Moy, Matty Laidlaw, Sam Eseh, Tom Briscoe, Will Gardiner, Will Hutchinson, Yusuf Aydin, Zak Hardaker.
