In-form Wakefield Trinity have thrashed West Yorkshire rivals Castleford Tigers twice already this season, but they will be wary of facing a side that stunned Super League leaders Leeds Rhinos last weekend.
Wakefield ran out 34-0 winners when the teams first locked horns in April before claiming a 48-6 victory at Magic Weekend at the start of this month.
Wins over Hull Kingston Rovers and Bradford Bulls have since followed for high-flying Trinity, who have won eight of their last nine Super League games.
Daryl Powell's side are firmly in the mix for the League Leaders' Shield, a cause helped by Cas' come-from-behind success over Leeds last Sunday.
Cas trailed the leaders by 16 points at one stage but showed great battling spirit to come back and claim just their second win in seven matches.
The play-offs may be beyond Ryan Carr's side, but they will be hoping that the win can act as a springboard for the rest of the season, starting with Friday's trip to the DIY Kitchens Stadium.

Only two teams have conceded more points in 2026 than Castleford's tally of 558 and even in the victory over Leeds last weekend, they still shipped 34 points.
As well as being thrashed twice by Wakefield, Cas have conceded 72 points in defeat to Warrington Wolves and let in 50 in back-to-back defeats to Hull FC and Hull KR earlier this season.

Wakefield have enjoyed two emphatic victories over Castleford this season and although this result may not be quite as resounding, the hosts should still be able to win by a minimum of 13 points.
Four of Wakefield's last five victories have been by 14 points or more, including each of the last three, a sequence that was started with their Magic Weekend hammering of Cas.
