Super League Man of Steel Odds: French favoured to join elite group

Here are the latest outright odds for the 2025 Super League Man of Steel award.

Super League Man of Steel Odds

Mikey Lewis (Hull KR)

15/2

Junior Nsemba (Wigan Warriors)

10/1

Tristan Sailor (St Helens)

10/1

Jack Welsby (St Helens)

George Williams (Warrington Wolves)

The Man of Steel trophy is awarded to the Super League player of the season and is the individual award that every player wants to win.

Only four players have won the trophy on multiple occasions - Ellery Hanley, Paul Sculthorpe, Andy Farrell and Sam Tompkins - but another name could be added to that illustrious list in 2025.

There are two former winners at the top of the ante post betting ahead of the new campaign, with Bevan French and Mikey Lewis expected to have big seasons for their respective clubs.

Bevan French - 5/1

With Wigan looking for a third consecutive Grand Final success, it’s not a surprise to see a Warriors player at the head of the Man of Steel betting.

Australian scrum-half Bevan French lifted the award in 2023, in what was his fifth season in Super League having left the Parramatta Eels.

French came close to winning the prestigious trophy again in 2024, as Wigan retained the title and also lifted the Challenge Cup trophy.

The 29-year-old became the first player to win the match trophies - Lance Todd Trophy and Harry Sunderland/Rob Burrow Award - for both the finals.

Mikey Lewis - 15/2

Having played a key role in Hull KR reaching the Super League Grand Final for the first time last season, Mikey Lewis lifted the 2024 Man of Steel trophy.

The 23-year-old was the top points scorer with 216 across the campaign, while also being named Rugby League Writers and Broadcasters' Association player of the year.

Having lost the 2023 Challenge Cup Final and the 2024 Grand Final, Lewis will hope to bring a team trophy back to Craven Park this term.

Junior Nsemba - 10/1

Wigan forward Junior Nsemba is playing in just his third Super League season, but many expect him to become a big name over the next few years.

The 20-year-old has already collected two Super League rings and made his England debut in the win over Samoa in November 2024.

Nsemba signed a six-year contract with the Warriors last year and should play a key role for the champions in 2025.

Tristan Sailor - 10/1

Former NRL player Tristan Sailor is looking forward to his first Super League campaign, having joined St Helens during the close season.

The former Brisbane Broncos, son of former dual-code star Wendell, plays at full-back and has signed a two-year deal at Knowsley Road. He should be a key figure for Saints this term.

Jack Welsby - 10/1

Saints back Jack Welsby became England’s youngest ever captain, skippering his country in the 2023 3-0 series win over Tongo.

The 23-year-old has been twice named the Super League Young Player of the Year, collecting the prize in 2021 and 2022.

George Williams - 10/1

Warrington scrum-half George Williams was a two-time Grand Final winner during his time with Wigan, but is now looking to bring success to the Wolves.

After two seasons in the NRL with Canberra Raiders, the scrum-half returned to Super League and last season scored the winning drop-goal to beat St Helens in the 2024 play-offs.
