Injuries have hit the club hard, and Wellens is still without Jonny Lomax and Jack Welsby, but some of his key players are now back in the fold.

Joe Batchelor and Morgan Knowles returned against Hull FC, while Alex Walmsley and Mark Percival will be available this week.

While to some, that should mean a straightforward home win, Salford have already beaten Saints twice this season.

Saints may have won last week, but it came against the second-worst team in the league.

While Salford should be able to keep things close on Merseyside, there should still be plenty of attacking quality on show.

Saints have plenty of their best players back in the mix, and that should at least mean they come out firing. However, fitness will eventually play its part, and over the 80 minutes, Salford should still be able to control sections of this game.

The two meetings between the two teams this season have already produced 38 and 44 points, so this game should follow that trend.

Salford have won two on the spin and six of their last eight, so their attack has been on point for the last two months.

Salford fans are dreaming of three consecutive victories over St Helens, and to do that, they will need everyone in red to be at their best.

Thankfully for the Red Devils, they have proven they can get the better of St Helens twice this season, and they did so thanks to Cross.

The Red Devils centre scored a brace in both previous meetings with St Helens this season and it is out wide that Saints are lacking some experience.

Cross has already exploited St Helens' rearguard four times this season, expect him to make it five at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
