Leigh Leopards have won their opening two fixtures of the new Super League campaign and they play host to a Catalans Dragons side who lost their opening two matches of the new term.

The Leopards beat reigning champions Wigan 1-0 courtesy of a golden point winner in round one and backed it up with a come-from-behind 24-10 victory over Huddersfield Giants in round two.

Catalans were hammered in a shock 24-4 home loss to Hull FC on the opening night and they found Warrington Wolves too strong in an 18-12 defeat last week, and there may be more misery for the French side in their third outing of the new season.

Catalans looked a bit more like their old selves in last week's 18-12 loss at Warrington Wolves, but another trip to Lancashire this Friday looks likely to end another loss.

O'Brien was Leigh's hero in round one with a golden-point drop-goal that saw the Leopards beat reigning champions Wigan Warriors following a 0-0 draw in extra-time, and it may be prudent to expect a successful drop goal in this encounter, too.

A close contest is likely in this fixture and if the scores are close in the later stage of the match, a pop at goal may be required to swing the result or seal the deal with the final hooter beckoning.

There have been just two group goals scored so far in Super League this term, but tighter matches look likely as teams get up to speed and that total is likely to increase in the coming weeks.
