Both sat on six points after the first four rounds of the new Super League season, all eyes will be on Headingley on Friday night as rivals Leeds Rhinos and St Helens go head to head.

Leeds Rhinos v St Helens betting tips and predictions

Leeds Rhinos to win - 8/5

After finishing down in eighth place in the Super League standings last season, there are early signs for optimism at Leeds Rhinos.

The West Yorkshire outfit have recruited well over the off-season, with the likes of Lachie Miller, Brodie Croft and Andy Ackers settling in well to their new surroundings at Headingley.

What has been most impressive about Rohan Smith’s side this season has been their home form.

Winning their opening game of the season against a strong Salford Red Devils side 22-16, Leeds went on to claim a second home victory with an 18-10 win over the Catalans Dragons.

Catalans were Grand Final runners-up last season and Leeds showed that on their own patch they can mix it with the best in the competition.

St Helens head into this game on the back of their first defeat of the season, as they went down 24-20 to Salford at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

That result will give Leeds confidence they can cause an upset on Friday night, against a Saints side required extra-time to earn a 13-12 victory on their last visit to Headingley last season.

At odds of 8/5, Leeds are worth backing to continue their perfect home record this year.

Ash Handley anytime tryscorer - 13/8

A player who seems to be getting better with each season that passes, Leeds winger Ash Handley is certainly worth looking out for in the anytime tryscorer market.

The 28-year-old has made a blistering start to the new Super League season and tops the tryscorer charts with seven going into the fifth round of fixtures.

With gas to burn and superb technical ability to dot down in the corner, Handley has worked hard behind the scenes to become the attacking threat he is today.

Saints will know all about his abilities but knowing is one thing and stopping Handley from exploiting space out wide is another.

The top tryscorer in the league in this early stage of the season, who has also made the most metres in the competition at 694, it’s hard to look past Handley adding to his try collection on Friday night.

Jack Welsby anytime tryscorer - 2/1

Another player who has made a strong start to the campaign, only Handley and Liam Marshall have scored more tries than St Helens’ Jack Welsby.

The 22-year-old is one of the brightest talents in the English game and has already become a key figure for both club and country.

Welsby’s ability to play in various positions in the backline makes him a dangerous operator with ball in hand.

Salford learnt that last time out, with Welsby bagging his fourth try of the season in that defeat to the Red Devils, in a game which saw Mark Percival given a red card.

While the likes of Tommy Makinson and Jonathan Bennison are shorter prices in the anytime tryscorer market, Welsby offers better value at 2/1 to cross over for his fifth try of the Super League season.
