Hull KR v Catalans Dragons: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Hull Kingston Rovers and Catalans Dragons will meet at the LNER Community Stadium in York with a place in the Challenge Cup final up for grabs.

Both teams are used to reaching finals in recent years, but neither side has got their hands on silverware.

The Robins last lifted a trophy in 1985, while Catalans last won the Challenge Cup in 2018.

Hull KR have set the standard in Super League, winning nine of their first 10 games to sit top of the table, while Catalans are slowly finding their feet after a slow start.

Six places separate them in the table, but in a one-off semi-final, anything can happen and it promises to be a dramatic afternoon in York.

Hull Kingston Rovers v Catalans Dragons betting tips and predictions

Hull KR - 10.5 - 10/11

Willie Peters' Hull KR are just 80 minutes away from a final and it may not be the only one they compete in this season.

The Robins have been so consistent all season, only losing to Wigan Warriors, the reigning Super League champions.

Peters' men have scored 289 points so far, a total only bettered by Wigan, and they have conceded 100 points in 10 games.

The East Yorkshire outfit are the form team in the division, but Catalans have won four of their last five. Steve McNamara's team lost 26-24 to Leigh Leopards at Magic Weekend, but they are a team that are trending in the right direction.

Sadly for the French club, they face the best team left in the competition, and the Robins should have too much class in the key areas.

Over 42.5 points - 1/1

Neutral rugby league fans should be in for a treat on Saturday as the two teams meet in York.

Both clubs are in good form and confidence will be high on what should be a sunny day in Yorkshire. The conditions look perfect for some summer rugby, and both squads have players that will relish the extra spring in the surface.

Hull KR have proven week in and week out that they can score points from anywhere, and they have been so consistent defensively. Offensively, Catalans have made giant strides and they will throw everything they have into Saturday's match.

Catalans have won two of the last three meetings between the two clubs and will not be fazed by taking on the Robins, and they should be able to score their fair share of points to cover the overs line in this battle.

Guillermo Aispuro-Bichet to score anytime - 3/1

Both Peters and McNamara will need to make changes to their teams this week.

Catalans full-back Sam Tomkins is out with a knee injury, while Hull KR's Arthur Mourgue is cup-tied, having played for the Dragons in the competition at the start of the season.

Eyebrows were raised when Catalans allowed Mourgue to move on, but 19-year-old Aispuro-Bichet has made a big impression so far this season.

He is still being slowly integrated into the team, but Tomkins' injury should allow him to express himself on the big stage.

Aispuro-Bichet has made a name for himself as Catalans' kicker, but as a full-back, he will given the chance to join several attacks and impress from all over the park.

He scored at Magic Weekend in the defeat to Leigh and at 3/1, he looks great value to score this weekend.
