Hull FC v Castleford Tigers Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

The play-offs are out of reach for Hull FC and Castleford Tigers this season and both clubs have been recruiting heavily for 2027 as they look to avoid a repeat of this season's struggles.

Hull start Round 23 in 12th spot, with Cas just ahead of them in 11th, but bottom side Huddersfield Giants have won their last three matches, so the threat of finishing last is still an issue for these two teams.

The Black & Whites have looked the stronger in recent weeks and last Thursday's win at St Helens was well deserved, but the Tigers have looked toothless, so it is hard to see them getting anything from this short Super League trip to East Yorkshire.

Hull FC v Castleford Tigers Prediction

Best Bet: Hull FC -14 @ 10/11

Hull FC claimed their first win in eight outings last week and they can make it back-to-back victories for just the second time this season with a comfortable success over Castleford on Friday.

Last Thursday's 32-18 victory at St Helens was well deserved and just reward for some good recent FC performances which haven't yielded any positive results.

The same can't be said for Cas, who have lost three on the bounce, conceding 44 or more points in each.

Head coach Ryan Carr has been suspended by the club due to internal disciplinary matters and performances on the pitch have suffered as a consequence.

Last week's 44-0 home loss to Hull KR was particularly poor and the Tigers' last away match ended with a 52-14 loss at bitter rivals Wakefield Trinity on July 24th.

Hull FC beat Castleford 50-10 when the pair last met in April and it would be no surprise to see a similar outcome this week.

Alternative Bet: Harvey Barron to score two or more tries @ 21/10

Despite not often getting the results their performances have warranted, Hull FC have rarely struggled to post points and flying winger Harvey Barron has been one of those to find form in recent weeks.

A slow start to the campaign means Barron has just 10 league tries this term, but half of those have come in his last four outings.

Barron will be bubbling with confidence following last week's hat-trick in the win at Saints, where he showed great finishing instinct to help win the game for the Black & Whites.

Hull should score plenty of points on Friday and Barron looks a great bet to follow up last week's treble by grabbing at least two more tries this week.

Hull FC v Castleford Tigers Bet Builder Tip

  • Hull FC -14.5

  • Harvey Barron to score a try

  • Joe Batchelor to score a try

    Pays 13/2

A comfortable home win looks likely for the home side, who can win by at least 15 points and a couple of tryscorers can bump up the payout for a three-leg bet builder.

In-form winger Barron is fancied to cross the line for the Black & Whites on home turf at the MKM Stadium, while one of the unsung heroes in the Hull side, Joe Batchelor could also get his name on the scoresheet.

Batchelor has been in great form since his return from injury and the back-rower has a great knack of finding space out wide.

Timing his runs to the line has paid off with two tries in his last three outings and Cas may also find him too hot to handle.
