Huddersfield Giants v Wigan Warriors Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

Wigan Warriors have timed their Super League play-off run nicely and they start round 19 in second place, four points adrift of leaders Leeds Rhinos.

The Warriors have already won the Challenge Cup this season and their quest for silverware is gathering pace.

They head to a Huddersfield Giants side who are rock-bottom of the standings and whose position in Super League could be under threat given their struggles on and off the pitch.

The home side have won just twice in 2026 and that record is unlikely to improve this week.

Alternative Bet - Zach Eckersley first tryscorer @ 7/1

Huddersfield Giants v Wigan Warriors Prediction

Best Bet: Wigan Warriors -18.5 @ 10/11

Huddersfield stunned Wigan with a 34-16 shock win in round six but little has gone right for the Giants since then and they are six points adrift at the bottom of the table.

That success at the Brick Community Stadium suggested things were set to improve for Huddersfield, who lost their opening five matches of the campaign, but it proved a false dawn and they have been rooted to the bottom all season.

With nine matches remaining, the end of the season can't come soon enough, but there looks set to be more woe for the Giants before then and Friday's visit from the Warriors could get messy.

Revenge will be on the minds of Matt Peet's men but so too will be the determination to keep up the pressure on leaders Leeds, and they head to West Yorkshire in great nick.

The Warriors have won eight of their last nine matches, and the only loss in that sequence came when Peet rested most of his first-choice side ahead of the Challenge Cup final at Wembley.

Wigan have beaten four of the top-seven sides in that winning run and their record against Huddersfield is just as impressive.

The Cherry & Whites have won eight of their last nine meetings with the Giants and that figure is only likely to increase this week.

The Challenge Cup holders have the second-best attack in Super League this season, scoring 525 points in 18 matches, so a handicap line of 18.5 looks well within reach for Peet's men.

Alternative Bet: Zach Eckersley first tryscorer @ 7/1

Wigan are likely to pile up the points on Friday and backing in-form winger Zach Eckersley to get the scoreboard ticking over first looks a solid alternative wager.

Eckersley, 22, has been in a rich vein of form, scoring five tries in his last six matches, helping Wigan to go through the gears and move up the table.

The youngster is enjoying a breakout season and has done most of his best work on the wing, although he can play as a centre too, and he has also had to fill in at full-back as injuries have cut deep into the Wigan squad.

It's 16 tries in 17 appearances this season for Eckersley and there is a high probability that he can open the scoring against Huddersfield on Friday regardless of which position he is placed in.

Huddersfield Giants v Wigan Warriors Bet Builder Tip

  • Wigan -20.5

  • Zach Eckersley to score two or more tries

  • Wigan not to trail in the match

    Pays 7/1

Wigan are likely to dominate this contest, so backing them to cover a 20.5 handicap looks a decent opening leg for a bet builder, and the price can be boosted by adding Wigan not to trail in the match, too.

Points should be easy to come by for the Cherry & Whites so add at least two tries for in-form back Zach Eckersley into the mix too.

Eckersley has been finding tries easy to come by recently and he can add to his 16-try haul on Friday.
