Catalans Dragons v Warrington Wolves: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Warrington Wolves will hope it is a case of third time lucky when they take on Catalans Dragons in the Super League on Saturday evening.

The two sides have faced each other twice already, with Catalans recording wins in Rounds One and Six.

Steve McNamara's men ran out 16-10 winners in the opening round, before securing an impressive 32-24 victory five weeks later.

Even though Catalans have got the upper hand twice, there's little to split the two teams, as both are tied on 16 points in the table.

Both sides have eight wins from 11 matches, but it is Warrington's superior points difference that puts them one place ahead of Catalans in third.

While Warrington beat Huddersfield Giants last weekend to advance to the Challenge Cup final, Catalans enjoyed a week off, and they won their last league game against Leeds Rhinos 26-0.

Catalans Dragons v Warrington Wolves betting tips and predictions

Warrington Wolves + 4.5 - 4/5

Warrington's squad will be brimming with confidence this week after their morale-boosting 46-10 victory over the Giants last week.

That success came in the final four of the Challenge Cup and they dominated at the Totally Wicked Stadium, reaching their first Challenge Cup final since 2019.

More work needs to be done to ensure they get their hands on the trophy, but there's a feel-good factor surrounding the club after the first few months under boss Sam Burgess.

The former Great Britain prop commands plenty of respect in the game, and his players are singing off the same hymn sheet ahead of this weekend's battle.

Warrington will be desperate to make another statement this weekend, and they have plenty of momentum behind them. Since losing to Catalans in Round Six, Warrington have won six of their last seven games.

However, Catalans have struggled. The Dragons have lost three of their previous five games and they've struggled with consistency during this busy period of the season.

The French outfit are unbeaten at home in the league this season, but Warrington look good value on the handicap.

Under 38.5 points - 10/11

The two sides have already racked up the points this season, with Warrington scoring 286, compared to the 244 that Catalans have scored.

They have both been defensively sound as well, with Warrington only conceding 143 points, to Catalans' 152.

While the last game between the two sides contained 56 points, this match should be a close affair.

Before their rout over Leeds, Catalans failed to score more than eight points in defeats to Wigan Warriors and Leigh Centurions.

Warrington have also not blown teams away this season, scoring fewer than 26 points in four successive Super League matches.

Matthew Dufty to score anytime - 21/10

Close games need someone to produce an individual moment of brilliance, and there are plenty of players on display who can do that.

Warrington full-back Matthew Dufty has already scored eight tries this season, and while he has fallen to sixth in the standings, he is still one of the best attacking weapons in Warrington's squad.

Burgess gets his team to spray the ball around the park, which benefits Matty Ashton and Josh Thewlis. Dufty is also one of the main benefactors of Warrington's style, and he should get plenty of space to work in.

No other Super League player has carried the ball more than Dufty, and he averages 20.91 carries per game.

He has already scored against Catalans this season, while he comes into the game in good form. Dufty scored two tries in last week's rout of Huddersfield, and the Dragons will do well to keep him quiet on Saturday evening.
