Catalans Dragons will look to win their first game of the 2025 Super League season when they host Leeds Rhinos on Saturday afternoon.
The Dragons have yet to hit their stride in 2025, which is a surprise considering the signings they made in the off-season.
Catalans boss Steve McNamara added the likes of Tommy Makinson, Ollie Partington, Nick Cotric, Elliott Whitehead, Luke Keary and Tevita Pangai Junior to his squad but the Dragons have struggled to show any signs of progress.
Leeds have recovered from a shock opening-round defeat to Wakefield Trinity to win their last two games and move into sixth in the Super League table.
Leeds Rhinos to win - 13/10
The Rhinos do not have happy memories of trips to Stade Gilbert Brutus in recent years.
Leeds were beaten 26-0 by Catalans in Perpignan in May 2024, while in September 2023, they were hammered 61-0.
Even Leeds scoring a try this weekend would be deemed an improvement, but they look good value for the win.
Catalans have been really poor through the first three weeks and there has been no impact from their new signings.
In attack, they have looked disjointed and out of sync, while they have not been strong enough defensively.
Catalans' pack should have dominated through the opening three rounds, but they have not imposed themselves and while they should click into gear in time, Saturday's game is going to be a tough task.
Leeds have fought hard in the last two weeks to beat the Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers, scoring at least 32 points in both games.
With Catalans offering little in attack, Leeds look good value to secure a rare away win.
Winning margin 4-way - Leeds Rhinos 1-12 points - 11/5
Saturday's match may be all about the returning players for each team. McNamara has named Sam Tomkins in his squad for the first time in 2025 after he decided to postpone his retirement, while Theo Fages and Chris Satae also return.
Catalans will get some much-needed creativity from Tomkins and Fages, while Leeds also welcome back Lachlan Miller, Brodie Croft and Matt Frawley.
Like Tomkins, Miller is named in the squad for the first time this season, but there is no guarantee he plays due to the performances of full-back Jake Connor.
One key absentee will be Leeds forward Tom Holroyd, who serves the first of his two-game ban.
Holroyd's absence will be massive in the pack for Leeds, and it should allow Catalans to win the forwards battle in Perpignan. Conditions and home advantage play into the Dragons' favour, and while Leeds should win, there's a chance Catalans make this competitive and show some fight for the first time this season.
Ryan Hall to score anytime - 12/5
Leeds' squad is full of playmakers in 2025 and coach Brad Arthur has encouraged his team to play an exciting brand of rugby.
The Rhinos have been happy to spread the ball around the park so far in three games, and winger Ryan Hall has benefitted twice.
Hall returned to the club for a second stint and even at 37, he still has the finishing ability to punish Catalans once a gap opens up.
