Castleford Tigers v Hull KR: Prediction, Tips and Odds

With half of the season completed, Hull KR are managing to stay the pace at the top of the Super League table and can move level on points with leaders St Helens by winning at Castleford Tigers on Thursday evening.

Hull KR -10 - 5/6

The Robins are rocking this season, with Hull KR showing few signs that the pressure of competing at the top of Super League is getting to them.

Willie Peters' side begin round 15 in third place and can move level on points with table-toppers St Helens with a win at The Jungle.

Rovers have already beaten the Saints and champions Wigan this season and Cas may be the next side to feel the full force of KR's free-flowing brand of rugby league.

Only Saints have scored more points than the Robins in Super League this season and they have scored 108 in three league wins since losing 20-8 at Warrington at the start of May.

The visitors' points-scoring prowess could spell particularly bad news for Castleford, who have conceded 416 in 14 league outings this season.

The Tigers have improved as the campaign has gone on but two of their three Super League successes this term have come against London and Hull - the only two sides below them in the standings - and they have generally been found wanting against the league's better sides.

Castleford's 10 league defeats have come by an average 25-point margin and all but two have been by more than the 10-point handicap set for Thursday's meeting with Rovers.

With that in mind, a line of just under two converted tries should be well within KR's compass.

Ryan Hall first tryscorer - 8/1

A late double in Hull KR's 32-6 win over Huddersfield last week saw Ryan Hall overcome his former Leeds team-mate Danny McGuire as Super League's record tryscorer with 248 scores.

Hall, who will head back to Leeds for the final year of his career next season, has dotted down eight times this season and the winger will be confident of adding to his tally against Cas.

The Tigers have felt the full force of Hall on numerous occasions during his career, with the former England international touching down 27 times in 33 matches against the Yorkshire club - only Catalans Dragons (30) have suffered more at the hands of the powerful winger.

Cas have had particular issues defending on their left edge this season and Hall could take advantage once more.

Hull KR not to trail in the match - 6/4

Castleford have conceded the first try in all but one of their 11 league and cup defeats this season and the 6/4 on offer that Hull KR forge a lead and defend it for the rest of the match looks worth a small interest.

Rovers are accustomed to scoring multiple tries in quick succession and the Tigers may struggle to restore parity if they go behind early.
